
A Russian guy by name Vyacheslav Trahov (also known as Yayteslav), had gone viral on 12th and 13th February, 2026 upon publicly humiliating some Ghanaian girls in pictures and videos of being cheap or sleazy. This Russian man from sources is an online blogger or self-styled “pick-up artist”, who usually post such stories from different countries on his social media platforms. So, he deliberately recorded his sexual encounters he had had with several Ghanaian ladies and shared them on his socials without their consent. Already, sources said he repeated same in Kenya and South Africa.
Authorities in Ghana such as the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection upon hearing the news, have also issued a statement to express their dissatisfaction with the Russian National and attributed his act as a criminal offence, clear violation of dignity and privacy, therefore, needs to be arrested. Again, the Minister – Agnes Naa Momo Lartey under this Ministry informed that, they are cooperating with the Ghana Police Service, relevant security institutions, international partners to explore all lawful options available, including cross-border co-operations and mutual legal assistance to seek justices for the affected ladies.
Samuel Nartey George, the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations on the other hand, also announced on 14th February, 2026 that, he had invited the Russian Ambassador in Accra for Moscow, to discuss the incident and how justice can be sought to help the affected ladies. “We will find that gentleman using all available resources by asking Russian Authorities to extradite him to Ghana to face the full rigors of the Law”, he informed.
Apart from that, under Ghana’s Cyber-security Act 2020, anybody who publishes images of children or adults without their full consent faces 25 years imprisonment. For that reason, this rapid response from Ghana’s Authorities depicts how leaders are seriously paying attention to online abuse, including sexual extortion and romance scams. Therefore, Authorities reminded Ghanaians to exercise caution in their interactions online and offline, and how they are circulating the videos and images published by Yayteslav.
Notwithstanding, the incident had also called for the need at which young girls must seriously prioritize their dignity in terms of abstaining from sexual related activities and to focus on their dreams until marriage. Since, such Chastity spares one from shame and protects one’s honor and reputation at all levels in life.
