HOLD GLEN BOATENG AND HIS TEAM ACCOUNTABLE IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO ME – KWESI ARTHUR

Kwesi Arthur the renowned Ghanaian rapper has publicly accused executives of his former record label – ‘Ground up Chale’ of harassments, threats, ownership over his image and music career, with the executives attempting to block his independent music releases until he makes a payment of USD 150,000. The statement which was made on his X (formerly as twitter) handle on 21st January, 2026, was to inform Ghanaians of the current trends and turnaround in his music career at the moment.

The multiple award winning Artiste asserted that the executives are demanding the above huge sum of money because, they claim to have ownership of his image, music and everything that has to do with his prominence and widespread recognition in music. As such, on no account should he use his “own image” to setup his own project without payment or considering them.

According to Kwesi, from 2016 till date, there has not been any cordial working relationships between him and his former executives since the release of his song titled – Son of Jacob; and that, even during his working days with this management, he never for once, directly received any income from his music, rather always been subjected to threats and manipulation, making him to leave the company, because, the Executives were only living on his hard work and money being earned in his music.

Moreover, Glen Boateng knowing his capabilities is now deliberately working against him from releasing more music independently and had decided to end his music career. Which, he is alerting the public and his fans of the issues at ground and that, any take down of his projects or his life, the public should attribute it to Ground Up Chale Executives. Kwesi Arthur further said, the decision to open up publicly was driven by concerns for his safety and that of his family, since the situation is even already affecting his wellbeing and mental health, currently.
“I’ve tried not to say anything for a long time, but for the safety of myself and family, I choose to public share the truth”, he stated.
