
The President of the Republic of Ghana as part of his initiatives to solve transportation crisis, had delivered first batch of EV buses as promised, today. The newly fulfilled promise came into existence, as a result of the transportation problems citizens were facing in respect to commercial cars, particularly with trotro.
Over the past months, transportation to various destinations became rampant among commuters where, it was evident on socials like Tiktok, Facebook and Instagram through videos and pictures that, commuters are having difficulties in getting trotro to their various homes or workplaces. As a matter of fact, it became evident that citizens queued for long hours waiting for commercial cars like trotro, in which drivers and conductors of these commercial vehicles also used the opportunity to over-charge fares from commuters, even when fuel prices were at a reduced rate.
The President becoming acquainted with these cries and information from the general public announced that, his government will ensure to curb the situation by providing buses to various communities, hence forward. Truly, this has been established.
Currently, these 100 newly acquired buses were said to have been exported from Egypt and will operate within the fleet of Metro Mass Transit Limited; a moment showing growing Africa-to-Africa collaboration while learning from global export standards and bringing an improvement in the public transport as well as strengthening African Trade Relations.
The general public on the other hand hearing the news; felt enthusiast with the swift response from the President to curb the situation and appreciated his efforts. But emphasized that, these buses need to be stationed in various communities as intended, to assist or aid in transportation for all citizens. Addressing that, most of the time, when these buses are delivered, commuters do not even see the full operation of such buses in the lorry stations as prescribed, and that the transportation problems continue to rise.
For that reason, they pleaded to government to really pay attention to these newly buses he has acquired for it to be delivered in various communities as intended and also advised managers who will be in charge, to sit to it that these buses get the needed maintenance support through the fare or ticket payment for its durability.
